Caribbean Poker is an interesting variation on Poker. The major difference is that everyone is playing against the banker and not each other.
Caribbean Poker uses one standard deck of 52 cards.
The game begins with each player betting an ante.
Each player and the banker is dealt five cards. All cards are face down but for the banker’s last card which is face-up.
No changing of cards is permitted. The player has to decide whether or not they wish to play with those five cards. If not, they fold and lose their ante. If they want to they must bet double whatever their ante is.
The banker needs at least an Ace to have a qualifying hand. If the banker does not have a qualifying hand it does not matter what cards the player has. The player receives a payout of 1:1 on the ante and the second bet is returned.
If the banker does have a qualifying hand it has to be determined if the player’s hand is superior. If it isn’t the player loses both the ante and the bet. If it is the player receives a payout of 1:1 on the ante and a predetermined rate on the bet depending on what the hand is.
